My Day

Hello it's Conor I have had a busy day so far. First of all I got up at 6:53 to study for a test on Thursday. That reminds me that I have two tests tomorrow well really one because one is more of a quiz, but that still count's right? Well anyway I went to school early so I could play some basketball in the gym,But my legs were really sore so it wasn't the best thing ever:( So when I got to class I had math it was studying for the test tomorrow. We then started our portfolios which are folders with our favourite work we did this term. Then we had recces:) When we came in we started to study for our test in two days. Our subject to study is socials. In socials we are learning about the ancient Egyptians and how they lived. Then lunch came around. Once lunch ended we had silent reading I read a book about a boy who goes on a holiday in Hawaii and when he's at the beach he gets swept out to sea and now has to survive. After reading we all had even more study time so we had lots of time to study today. Once I got home I got a snack and did my math review. Once I finished that I took a break from studying. After dinner Dad and Cameron went out to soccer practice and me and mom stayed home. When the other guys left I sat down and did even more studying!! Once I finished that I wrote this:) Oh what's that I hear mom calling me to go make a smoothie. OK see you later.

on my way...well almost

Just checked in for both BA flights-managed all by myself!

Just been out for lunch with Grandpa and Pop-went out in rain and back in snow-so just breaking me in gently for my return to the icebox.

Hope all has been going well with the tryouts and snow clearing activities, school and work-Saw Auntie Liz briefly at Stronsay today (she was dropping in soup for Grandpa) she is going to ask Uncle Alan to email a recent photo of Sasha that Donna took-so we must send one of boys to them.

Must go -can't wait to get home now-looking forward to seeing you all Saturday-I will call as soon as I can when at the hotel in Vancouver...hang on Spike I'll be home soon!

lots of love-mom xx

Interesting day...

Yesterday, an icicle landed on Cameron's head as they were hanging out at the Night and Day at lunchtime. No serious damage done, I couldn't even see a bruise.

Today, however, he called me from school about 10.30 complaining of headaches and dizziness. I went and took him home, put him to bed where he slept for the next 4 hours. He woke up feeling brand new, spent some time on the treadmill to make sure he would be OK, then went to his tryout, where he played really well for the full 90 minutes. I have no idea if the icicle and the headache were related, or how he recovered so completely so quickly, but that's Cam for you...

In other news, Conor has a basketball game at Heather Park after school tomorrow, which has thrown our plans for the afternoon out, but I'm sure we'll figure it out, and PGYSA stuff is causing me to pull what's left of my hair out, but that's nothing new.

Remind me why I signed up for it, especially with everyone asking me to coach again...

Still no drips, but I haven't been back up to inspect the roof - I was going to do that this morning, but I had to go to work, and then there was the whole Cameron thing. Maybe I'll get to it tomorrow.

And, yes; we're counting the days :-)

baby

Hilarious!

Dry

The drips have officially stopped! I must have got enough snow off the roof now, so we're no longer plagued by dripping. Not moving the bucket, though.

Not much else to report today, I'm afraid - a normal, quiet Monday - work, school, basketball, you know the drill. But no soccer, so we're going to watch something together instead. Calm before the storm, I think.

So, in the absence of anything else, have something to make you laugh:

late trains and buying a hand bag

So we started with late trains because of a broken down train in Montrose blocking the rails-but we jumped on a train going to Newcastle and reached Waverley only losing 15 minutes of shopping time.

Like a homing beacon we found NEXT and I bought two apirs of trousers which fit! Aunty Heather bought a pretty girly pink top for a 'do' she is going to.

In Debenhams I just had to buy a new hand bag-but it was for Aunty Heather's birthday-so I am OK-dad can get up off the floor.

Of course we had lunch in Hendersons-all looks the same-and it was wonderful.

So a great day all round and lots of girly shopping-you would have loved it!

Back up to Aberdeen tomorrow-be in touch when I can.

Love mom xx

Drip latest!

The dripping has slowed dramatically - I won't say stopped, but compared to where we were, it's almost completely dried up.

Thanks, of course, to me spending practically the whole day battering away at the roof - I reckon I've cleared more than I did last time, which took me the best part of a week. Obviously my technique has improved!

I spoke to Bruce as we were negotiating over the roof rake (I have to promise to return it in under 2 years this time), and he told me we have a thaw on the way, which may or may not help. What did help was the cunning application of hot water bottles - not just for bedtime!

The boys and I have had a very pleasant evening - we watched Top Gear, I showed Cameron how to write some HTML code, so he could embed his video below (he knows how to make his link open in a new tab now as well), I jammed on the guitar with Conor, Cam and I had a serious talk about tryouts, and the possibility of being cut if there is only one team this year - he knows how seriously he has to take it now, which has not always been the case in the past - we studied some French verbs.

And now, I'm exhausted. I've just seen my work for tomorrow, and I have to go and visit the customer with the world's most annoying dog, so that should be fun...

And in all the excitement, we forgot to take the video back. Oh, well - some things never change.

megaminx solve as promised

The day today!

Hello it's Cameron again!

Well I just finished reading the other blogs from Conor and Dad, and there really isn't anemone lot to say about today so I will talk about other things instead.
I have just finished setting up the video I promised mom before she left of me solving the megaminx (my iPod thinks that isn't a word and replaced it with metallic) and I should have it on tomorrows blog if I finish it. I might even add in some other solves of my 3x3 and possibly my 4x4.

That's basically it for today so bye!

Not our best day...

So it's been an interesting day!

My early PGYSA meeting actually went well, although our subsequent emergencies have meant I couldn't do the follow up. I came home with the parts I needed to finish the toilet, but the design of the bolts didn't go well with the old tank, and as I was tightening them to stop the leaking, the tank cracked. So, back off out I went to get a new tank, which I did get done with minimal further leakage, and it does work well, although being smaller than the old one, it does look a little odd.

Then we did the music lessons, and went (successfully) to Rogers. I decided to collapse on the sofa for an hour and watch some cricket, which was clearly a big mistake. A couple of times, I thought I could hear a drip, but I couldn't see anything. I roused myself to start making dinner, and as I came back into the family room, I saw it... drip, drip, drip - right where the last drips had been...

Of course, having warmed the room up had probably set it off - I went out to do some roof clearing, but it actually seemed to be making it worse - probably due to the room getting warmer. Still, I did what I could before it got too dark, and we have one of the big green buckets under it, so we won't flood.

We watched our movie around the drips, and then I opened the windows to test my theory - if I cooled the room down, maybe the dripping would slow. Well, I don't know the answer to that yet, because a new drip started right in the middle of the window frame. So I shut the windows again, and came to write this rather than curl up into a ball and start sobbing, which might alarm the cats.

Looks like another insurance claim - I'll talk to them in the morning, and see if I can get the roof rake back from Caroline and Bruce - I'm an old hand at the snow clearing, I suppose, so that's one small positive to take from this.

Ah, it's probably not as bad as it sounds, but I'm really, really tired of winter now!

It's a Scary Breaking Roof!!

Hello again sorry it was a little late when I wrote it because we just finished watching a movie which I will tell you about later in the blog. So at the start of the day we had to get up earlier than on a usual Saturday but dad had something to do this morning so we had to get up and do chores. Soon after dad got home from his meeting we went to our guitar and drum lessons. When those finished we went to rogers for a game and movie the game me and Cam got was a game called lord of the rings conquest which is really fun to play and we all got a movie called the sorcerers apprentice and we watched it today but yesterday when you read this. Also 1 hour before we watched the movie the roof started to leak!!:0 So we hope the snow will freeze over night and stop leaking. So that is all I think happened today. So bye!!

Late night

Bit of a late night for us - we'd done a swap with the Emmons boys today, and we all went there after soccer for dinner. Boys ate asparagus, even Cam. Although I think that was mainly because Itold him about stinky pee the next day!

No snow has been cleared from the deck, although Conor and Hudson spent most of the afternoon making snow caves in the back yard, while I tried to fix our toilet. That project was only mostly successful - it no longer constantly fills, but I need to replace the gasket and bolts, so the tank is empty overnight to prevent drips.

I have a PGYSA meeting at 9 tomorrow, so the boys will be left with chores to do - wonder how many will be done before I get back...

Anyway, we were delighted to hear from you, and we'll resume more normal service tomorrow. Oh, and if Aunty Heather's reading this, have a happy birthday! We'll try to call at some time, but it will depend on how quickly my meeting is done...

Spikes Adventure

Hi it's Cameron!!!!

Spike was jumping up on to the counter just now, so I picked him up, opened the back door, and showed him what it is like out there. Since the snow is taller than him everywhere, he was not impressed and he hasn't jumped up since then!

Cameron
I am worried for the cats-perhaps they are not receiving enough attention from their humans!!

It was really nice to read all the posts and hear what has been happening, I am in a bit of ahurry today to gte back for 'tea', so I will be quick.

Today Pop and I went shopping, I saw Stig Easter Egg in M&S which I wanted to buy for you both, but it would be in bits by the time I got back-but look it up online -it may be there.

I cleaned out all Pops kitchen cupboards this afternoon and now I am at Grandpas for a chat and emails.

I am trying to sort out trains etc for meeting with Sarah, need to book for coming back to Aberdeen Tuesday.

It is mild and good weather here-the crocus hgave come out in Pop's garden.

Bot alot more to report really, hope soccer goes well tonight, and that Conor yuo have a good day.

I didn't hear that the drive way was clear of the bump, make sure it is being done!!

Must go and look up trains, enjoy your day off but help dad-are you up yet?

I don't want to worry anyone, but...

... the cats are driving me crazy!

That is all.

It's Time For Conor's Day!!!

Hi it's Conor. Here is what I did today. First of all I got up at 7:00 am. Once I got up and had my breakfast then made my lunch I called mom to see what was going on. Once I said bye to mom I went to school for basketball and won 3 out of 4 games of bump. Bump is a shooting game where every one gets in a line up (queue) and we all shoot at the basket and if you don't score you're out.

After basketball later in the day (still during school) my class had an ice cream party. We had our party because for the last few weeks we had a student teacher and she was really fun to work with so we threw a party because it was her last day to work with us. Also later in the school day we had a special guest come in. Nobody knew who it was except our teacher and the student who brought it in (well his mom did) and when he pulled the special guest out of the box all the girls in my class were like AWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

Can you guess why?? Well if you guessed it was a rabbit you would be right:) It was a one year old bunny that had been saved from a closet in an abandoned apartment room. So we got to pet its nice warm cuddly white fur and it was sooooooo soft. And after school I went to Braden's house
.

Dad's day...

Just the usual, really - work, long PGYSA phone calls, more work, soccer, dinner, trying to get boys to go to bed, trying to stop Spike eating the green yoga mat, wishing I'd had time to do shovelling so I wouldn't have to get up at 6 tomorrow to do it.

You know the kind of thing.

It snowed fairly heavily all morning, but cleared up later. There's a nice new layer everywhere, except in the driveway, where I've already driven it flat - oh well.

There's a message on the phone from a prospective therapy client; I need to make sure we don't erase it. I'll call them tomorrow and explain that you're away.

Next blog: I'll work on Conor's spelling, and attention to detail. To be fair to him, it was a bit late by the time we did it, and his heart wasn't really in it. He's going to Braden's after school tomorrow, so I wonder if it will be just as late tomorrow - we'll see.

Hope Aberdeen isn't too cold, and we'll try to talk to you - perhaps around breakfast time...

my day by conor

Blog (02,03,2011)

Hi it's Cameron here!

School was good today! First I had Gym which is always fun, and then I Had a double block of Science, where we watched a movie called "Osmosis Jones" which was a good movie. And the rest of the day as the normal lunch, French, and Art.
Today was the last practice of academy soccer (football) and we just played games all session.
Not as cold as usual today, but it snowed again which we're all going to have to get out and shovel the driveway and/or deck. To shovel the deck I will probably just walk back and fourth a lot of times until the snow isn't the same height as me!

That's pretty much all the news for today. Thank you very much for reading this daily blog. This is Cameron signing off.

I will now attempt to type my name with my eyes shut, on an iPad, with my nose..........here goes: cqjeeuv

............................................................that was a fail.

Morning, mum

just getting everyone up, and we're glad to have an email from Heathrow telling us mum's doing fine. Snowing here again, windy as well. We bet London's a bit warmer...

Waiting at the gate for my flight-I think I hear Coda shouting-must be in my head!

On her way...

Mum safely delivered to the airport, and only a few minutes delay, so it was safe for me to leave and go to work. As long as she gets out of PG, she should be good to go this time.

My Little Cat

My Little Cat is Named Coda. Coda is a very cheeky and naughty. Also Coda never stops shouting. Yesterday Coda was running around crazily like a crazy cat. But today he has been very lazy and is now sleeping in front of the fire in the living room. So that is what Coda has been doing.
the snow will not ground me this time-the cats are too annoying-I need a break!

ducky

Ducky, ducky, jumping, jumping, falling, falling! ducky, ducky, swimming, swimming, drowning, drowning!

2 years later...

We're ready to try again. Let's hope the snow doesn't slow things down this time!
